C8: Accessing Settlement Services in Ontario is a Human Right: The Role of Management in Supporting Organizational Change
This workshop is for management and senior management and addresses your important role in creating an organizational culture that supports LGBTQ positive space. This workshop will address access to services as a human right and include presentations, a small working group and discussion. Participants will be given time and support to review their policies and develop and action plan for addressing these issues on an organizational level.

Annemarie Shrouder is a speaker, facilitator and writer on issues of diversity and inclusion. Her passion is helping people to connect across difference. The result in organizations is better teamwork, increased productivity & engagement among employees, and better connections to communities (especially for the Not For Profit sector). Annemarie works with diversity on a broad scale, with a specialty in LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, & Queer/Questioning) issues and creating safe space. Annemarie is the founder of Building Equitable Environments.

Akim Adé Larcher is the current Director & Senior Consultant at The Larcher Group. Akim holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Wolverhampton and has over 10 years experience in LGBT advocacy, HIV/AIDS policy, international human rights law, and social justice issues. Akim is the former Director of Policy & Research at Egale Canada, a national LGBT human rights organization. He is a current board member of the Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention (Black CAP), the International Lesbian & Gay Association (ILGA), and a member on the Advisory Committee for the LGBT Program with Human Rights Watch (HRW).
