November 10, 2011 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
November 11, 2011 10:45 AM – 12:15 PM
Last year, Ontario passed new legislation that provides not-for-profit corporations in this province with a modernized legal framework. The sector is currently working with legislation that is 50 years old. In the intervening period corporate legislation has changed and so has the sector. This session will review the key changes, what is positive for the sector and what remains problematic and identify the implications for different organizational structures and the timelines as we understand them. This seminar will provide you with basic information about the act to help you understand the nature and scope of the work your organization may need to undertake as it is proclaimed.
